Eligibility Details-
The candidate should meet the following eligibility criteria for the admission in AIIMS Ph.D Courses 2020-21
Nationality-
candidate must be either-
- a citizen of India.
- a subject of Nepal
- a subject of Bhutan.
- a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January,1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India.
- a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania(Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar),Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Educational Qualification
Medical qualification: MBBS/BDS with minimum 55% aggregate marks or MD/MS/MDS/DM/M.Ch in the subject concerned or Diplomate of National Board of Examination.
Candidates who have obtained any of these degrees from medical colleges which are not recognized by the Medical Council of India shall not be eligible to apply.
Nursing Qualification– Candidates holding M.Sc. degree with minimum 55% aggregate marks in Nursing speciality will also be eligible for Ph. D admission in College of Nursing.
Non-Medical– Candidates holding M.Sc. (Other than M.Sc. Nursing) M.Tech. degree & BAMS will be eligible for the Non-Medical Qualification Category. Candidate having eligibility under non-medical category should have at least 60% marks in the last eligibility examination qualified.
Desired qualifications-
The non-medical candidates should have preferably qualified in any one of the following National Entrance tests in the last 2 years from the last date of submission of online application form (i.e.10th August, 2018 to 9th August, 2020), leading to the award of a fellowship tenable at AIIMS, New Delhi.
- Joint CSIR-UGC NET for JRF
- ICMR – JRF
- ICMR- SRF
- DBT – JRF
- NBHM screening test
- Graduate aptitude test (GATE)
- INSPIRE fellowship
Candidates who have qualified in above said examinations leading to award of fellowships tenable at AIIMS, New Delhi will be given special weightage in the entrance examination as detailed in method of selection part of guidelines.

About The Exam :
Selection for Ph.D. registration will be through a three-stage performance evaluation as under
Medical / Dental/Nursing candidates

- Medium of examination shall be ENGLISH only.
Eligibility for Stage III : Candidates must score at least 35 marks in Stages I and II (Combined) to be eligible for Stage III. Candidates who do not fulfill the criteria to qualify for stage III will not be eligible for selection.
Stage-III: candidates will be called for departmental clinical/practical/lab based assessment ( 20 marks). These marks will be added to the marks of stages I + II + special weightage to determine the final merit.
FINAL RESULT: Candidates who secure 50% marks in Stage-I/II & III Combined (50/100) shall be eligible for admission.

The Special Weightage 10 marks will be added to the total score of Stages I and II for candidates who fulfill both the following criteria:
- (1) they are eligible for stage III
- (2) they also have qualified in any one of the following entrance tests in the last 2 years: Joint CSIR-UGC NET for JRF, ICMR-JRF, ICMR-SRF, DBT-JRF, NBHM screening test, Graduate aptitude test (GATE), INSPIRE fellowship.
Stage III: From the list detailed in section B above, 3 times as many candidates as the number of seats advertised will be called for departmental clinical/practical/lab based assessment ( 20 marks). These marks will be added to the marks of stages I + II + special weightage to determine the final merit.
FINAL RESULT: Candidates who secure 50% marks in Stage-I/II & III Combined (50/100) shall be eligible for admission.

At the time of counselling Bring the original documents and one set of self-attested photocopies of all the documents-
- On the counselling date bring duly filled-in Admission Form and three recent passport size (5 cm x 4 cm) photographs.
- Arrange original documents and their self-attested photocopies in the following order:
a) AIIMS Result card
b) Class 10thCertificate.
c) Educational Certificate/Degree and Marksheet.
d) Character Certificate from the Institute last attended.
j) SC/ST Certificate (wherever applicable).
k) A person with Disability (PwD) Certificate .
l) OBC Certificate If applicable
m) Undertaking for Achievements in Sports .
n) Undertaking for Attendance in Sports Ground .
o) Certificate for Defence Category .

- AIIMS New Delhi has released notification for Ph.D Admission Online Form 2020.
- One can apply between 27 /07/2020 to 09/08/2020 AIIMS Admissions 2020.
- Please read the notification before applying the AIIMS Ph.D form .
