CSIR HRDG JRF Validity extended due to COVID-19.CSIR HRDG has released the date extension notice for JRF certificate validity period now .Due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation in the country ,CSIR HRDG has extended the period of JRF certificate validity for those candidates who are availing CSIR JRF Fellowship from CSIR  .All candidates,those who are in the JRF position either pursuing Ph.D or working as Project assistants can feel safe from the JRF certificate expiration.

CSIR has decided to extend the certificate validity period of those candidates whose certificate validity ends on June 2020, for a period of 6 months ie.till December 2020.The other terms and conditions remains the same for all the candidates availing CSIR NET/JRF fellowship from the CSIR agency.

CSIR conducts  the Joint CSIR-UGC Test  for determining the eligibility of Indian Nationals for the award of Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) and also for determining the eligibility for appointment as Lecturer (LS) in the following  areas

Chemical Sciences

Earth Science

Atmospheric Science

Ocean and Planetary Sciences

Life Sciences

Mathematical Sciences

Physical Sciences

The award of Junior Research Fellowship to the successful eligible candidates  depends on their finding admission/placement in a University/ National laboratory/ Institution of higher learning and research, as applicable

Every year lakhs of  students from different backgrounds like botany, zoology,biotechnology,microbiology,molecular biology,physical sciences,mathematical sciences, ocean sciences,atmospheric sciences ,chemical sciences and from many other fields appear for the all india level examination for CSIR NET/JRF fellowship. Out of all the qualified candidates of CSIR NET/JRF few no. of student gets the JRF rank and remaining qualified candidates get the NET certificate .

• On the basis of CSIR JRF Certificate the qualified candidates can either join a Ph. position or work under any project .
• The candidates with JRF rank are automatically eligible for lecturer-ship in the Universities in India.
• The current fellowship stipend for JRF position is Rs. 31000/-month.
• Also the candidate are eligible for getting House rent allowance at the rate of 24%(current rate).

CSIR HRDG agency also provides the grant for research for JRF position. The current grant amount is Rs. 20000/-Year.This grant can be avail by the JRFs only if they provides the bills of the article used during their research .
