Eligibility Details-
The candidate should meet the following eligibility criteria for law clerk :
Educational Qualification
- Three Years Professional/Five Years Integrated Degree in Law from any Law College or a recognized University in India.
- Law graduates having with minimum 55% marks in their LL.B.examination are only eligible to apply for the post of Law Clerks (Trainee).
- Those who have appeared in LL.B. (Final Year) in 2019-20 Examination and are awaiting results may also apply.
- Applications shall be accepted from such ‘Law Graduates’ who have not started practice as an advocate or engaged in any other profession or vocation/service.
- Computer knowledge, i.e., Data Entry, Word Processing and Computer Operations.
Age Limit-as on 01/07/2020
- Minimum : 21 Years
- Maximum : 26 Years
- Age relaxation to different category is according to Allahabad High Court recruitment rules.

- Pay the Examination Fee Through Demand Draft in Favor Of “Registrar General, High Court of Judicature ” payble at “Allahabad”.

About The Exam :
Selection Process is based on interview.
- The candidates for interview will be called only after screening.
- No travelling allowance ( T.A.) will be payable for attending the interview.

About Law Clerk work-
- The term ”Law Clerk (Trainee)” makes it clear that they shall be given training with regard to procedure and substantive law to assist the Hon’ble Judges in discharging their judicial and administrative functions.
- Trainee will be required to carry out search and research on legal points and principles as desired by the Hon’ble Judge with whom he/she remains attached.
- He/she shall assist the Hon’ble Judge in searching out case law, articles, papers and other relevant material.
- Besides attending the Chambers of Hon’ble Judges, the Trainee may also be asked to be present in Court during hearing of the arguments, take down or prepare notes in Court as required by the Hon’ble Judges in discharge of judicial as well as administrative work.
- The research work assigned to Trainee may include performing legal research, drafting memorandums and opinion, comments on statutes, relevant to questions of law.
- Assistance from the court Clerk (Trainee) may also be taken in proper maintenance of the case files.
- Assistance in administrative functioning of the Judge shall also be desirable which shall include:-
- maintaining of administrative files,
- preparation of research of academic papers,
- maintaining record of judgments,
- the points of law decided in various judgments by
a Judge, - maintenance of records regarding administrative correspondence etc.
Due to Increasing cases of COVID-19 the following guidelines are strictly applicable during the Allahabad High Court Interview .

A Candidate must have Aarogya Setu App installed on his mobile phone. i. All candidates will be checked with Thermo guns at the entry point for temperature. In case, any person is observed to be having above normal temperature (> 99.14° F) or displaying any symptoms of the virus, they will not be allowed entry into the venue

Any stationery item like textual material (printed or written), bits of papers, Geometry/Pencil Box,
Plastic Pouch, Calculator, Scale, Writing Pad, Pen Drives, Log Table, Electronic Pen/Scanner etc. (b) Any communication device like Bluetooth, Earphones, Microphone, Pager, Health Band etc.- (c) Other items like Goggles, Handbags, Hair-pin, Hair-band, Belt, Cap, etc. (d) All ornament like Ring, Earrings, Nose-pin, Chain/Necklace, Pendants, Badge, brooch etc. should be thoroughly checked. (e) Any watch/Wrist Watch, Camera, etc. (f) Any metallic item (g) Any eatable item opened or packed (h) Any other item which could be used for unfair means for hiding communication devices like camera, blue tooth devices etc. |
How to apply for the Law Clerk
- Allahabad High Court has released notification for court Clerk (Trainee) post Offline Form 2020.
- One can apply between 19 /07/2020 to 08/08/2020.
- Please read the notification before applying the Allahabad high court clerk form .
- Then check the eligibility,documents required.
- Kindly ready documents like -Photo, Sign, Thumb etc.
- Download the application form .
- Take a printout of application form on A4 size paper .
- Fill the application form and kindly attach the photocopy of required documents.
- Documents self attested photocopy to be attached-
- Class X Certificate/Marksheet(DOB proof)
- Class XII Marksheet
- Class XII Certificate
- Graduation Degree
- Graduation Mark-sheet
- testimonials/Subject of Purpose regarding Extra Curricular Activities and Computer Knowledge
- two self addressed envelope (size 5”x10”) each bearing postage stamps worth Rs. 40/-
- Valid ID Proof with photograph like aadhaar card, voter id card, passport, PAN Card etc.
- All the above things should be inside the envelope containing application should be written on front side ”APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF LAW CLERK (TRAINEE)”.
